A message to everyone recovering from narcissistic abuse.
Wake up. Remember. You are enough. Just as you are. Everything else is someone’s story you’ve picked up and made your own.
It’s an illusion and to believe someone saying to you that you are not enough is to believe they have absolute authority on you. No one in the whole world, no matter who they are, can possibly be authority on you. Therefore, they cannot possibly know who you should be, what you should like and what you should do. They cannot possibly know what is the right and wrong way for you to be you.
Wake up. Remember. “You are not enough!” is a manipulator’s way to show you what you should be in order to be convenient to him or her. The manipulator might as well be saying: “The way you are right now or the way you are generally is not convenient enough for me. I chose you as a resource for myself and you, an alive, active, independent, thinking, feeling human with needs, desires and free will, don’t really work for me. I’d really rather you were passive, dependent, helpless, submissive, depressed and worried so that I can easily manipulate you to meet my needs. So you should be more/less _ (fill the gap with what applies) so that I can start/continue using you for my gain, benefit and profit.”
Wake up. Remember. You always have a choice to either stay in the insane non-reality that you are not enough created by the narcissist or you can choose to step out of the manipulator’s madness into the reality of:
- I am
- I exist
- I am what I am
- I accept myself fully
- I am enough
Wake up. Remember. You are enough!
